What I use for Photography.

As you may (or may not) know, I only started photography at the start of the year and I did not have many chances to practice. But I love my camera, I use the Olympus Pen-F. The beauty of this beast isn't just its utter practicality but also its price. This awesome beast-in-a-box only cost me around $1800 AUD. It's a great price compared to what was in my mind, I had originally considered buying the Fujifilm X-Pro 2 with its beautiful hybrid viewfinder but that would have been unbearably straining on my wallet.

My Pen-F

Honestly, I was a little disappointed by the fact that the storekeeper persuaded me to purchase the Olympus but to my absolute surprise and wonder, it turned out to be a legend of a mirrorless. I took it along with me on a few trips while visiting my family and friends while I gradually eased myself into all of its controls, it was an absolute pleasure to work with (And it comes with an external flash, value!).

Unfortunately, there are a few downsides with the Olympus, mainly that it isn't weather sealed. This is a massive bugger for people like me who do street photography (although i don't have anything to shoot for it right now). I won't go into much detail because this is just an introduction to what I use and not a full blown review.

I use the Olympus 12-40mm f/1-2.8 PRO lens (yes, yes I should have more but I'm running low on savings right now). It is a great beginner lens in my opinion, you can set whether to use auto or manual focusing by sliding the focusing ring forwards or backwards. The downside of the lens is that it is a bit heavy and shifts the camera's centre of gravity forwards quite a bit but that shouldn't bother most people.

That's pretty much all I use when taking my photos. Thanks for reading!
